Since 2006, the Vernet-Meckler Organ Duet has dazzled audiences across the world promoting the novel repertoire of four-hand music for the organ through brilliant performances and over numerous acclaimed recordings (Diapason d’Or, Choc du Monde de la Musique, 5/5 Hifi-Video, Maestro Pianiste, 6/6 PianoNews, Fono Forum, Luxemburger Wort, American record Guide…), regularly broadcasted in Europe and USA (France Musique, Europe 1, France Inter, Radio Classique, RCF, RTBF, RAI, American Public Media,…). In addition to its concert activity (for example in Festival du Comminges, International Organ Festival of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Festival Les Riches Heures de la Réole, Festival du Printemps des Orgues in Angers, International Organ Festival of Saint-Louis-des-français à Rome, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Salle Philharmonique in Liège, Auditorium Maurice Ravel in Lyon, International Organ Festival of Andorre, International Organ Festival of Poblet, Avignon Festival, International Organ Festival of Monaco, Philharmonie de Paris, Festival Pablo Casals…), Vernet-Meckler Organ Duet devotes a large part of its activity to searching and developing organ duet repertoire. Some composers have dedicated pieces especially for them (Julien Bret, Pierre Cholley, Rafihavana Ratovondrahety, Tal Zilber, Philip Robert Buttal, John Carmichael, Charles Balayer, Narcís Bonet, Hervé Lesvenan, Gunnar Idenstam...). Olivier Vernet has studied with Gaston Litaize, Marie-Claire Alain, and Michel Chapuis in the class where he won first prize for organ at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He has received awards from the foundations of Aram Khachaturian, Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet, Marcelle and Robert de Lacour, and the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. To date, Olivier Vernet has recorded 110 CDs, which have received distinguished awards including: Diapason d’Or; Choc du Monde de la Musique; ffff Télérama, 10 de Répertoire, Joker Crescendo, Recommandé Classica. Four of the most sought-after french honors have been bestowed on Mr. Vernet: Grand Prix de la Nouvelle Académie du Disque, Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles Cros, Grand Prix de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts, 2000 Diapason d’Or and 2016 Choc Classica. Artistic Director for the Monaco International Organ Festival, He is the titular organist of the Monaco Cathedral. As such, he played the princely wedding in 2011. Olivier Vernet is Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de l’Ordre monégasque du Mérite Culturel.
Cédric Meckler is holder of a doctorate in Medicine (MD) and in Neurosciences (PhD), and was a medical officer, holding the rank of colonel. After completing a Medicine thesis dedicated to Schumann’s mental disease, he defended another Neurosciences thesis focused on cerebral activity related to control of musical motor activities. Researcher and Hypnotherapist in the Army until 2017, he has used his research and publications to offer a new reading grid of reference methods devoted to piano technique. From now on, he practices and explores the field of non-ordinary states of consciousness (hypnosis, meditation, lucid dreaming) that he uses for artistic help, including preparation for the stage.
